Probably the most famous marble in the world, Carrara is the world center not only of the extraction but also of the marble processing and, thanks to the ancient artisan tradition, has been included by UNESCO in the World List of Creative Cities.
Carrara marble was used since the Roman age to embellish Rome imperial capital and then, in the Middle Ages, in the Renaissance and centuries to come. Great artists such as Michelangelo, Bernini, Canova loved using this white and shiny stone and generations of architects still use Carrara marble to embellish villas, churches, palaces and cities.
