Transportation

Yes. All experiences are private for individuals, couples, families, or small groups, led by a licensed local guide. Timing and content are tailored to your interests.

How long does the tour take?

The standard experience is about 2.5 hours. Full-day extensions are available on request (extra quarry valleys, Carrara Old Town, or more time in Colonnata).

What’s included in the experience?

Scenic drive through marble valleys, visit of underground and open-pit quarries, and a guided visit to a sculpture workshop where artisans demonstrate their craft.

Can we add a hands-on sculpting lesson?

Yes. Add a “Marble Sculpting Experience” to try mallet and chisel under an artisan’s guidance. It’s suitable for beginners and families.

Is the walking difficult?

Easy to moderate. Short, mostly flat walks with some gravel near quarries. Closed shoes are required; bring hat and sunglasses in summer.

Are children welcome?

Yes. Families are welcome. The route is adjusted to keep it engaging and safe for kids with suitable viewpoints and timings.

Is the tour accessible for reduced mobility?

Yes. With advance notice, we can plan minimal-walk options and accessible stops. Availability depends on site conditions and the capability to hop-on and off 4×4 vehicles.

When do sculpture workshops operate?

Usually on weekdays and Saturday mornings. Some workshops close on holidays/weekends; we confirm openings when arranging your tour.

Can we include Colonnata or tastings?

Yes. Many guests add time in Colonnata with optional tastings. We can also arrange winery stops in Colli di Luni or Colli del Candia on full-day programs.
